Responder stories
I am Adam, a Level 3 Responder currently working towards my Level 4 qualification and the Lincoln / Hykeham District Co-ordinator. I am also proud to sit on the LIVES Advisory Group and the Clinical Governance Review Group. I joined LIVES at the end of 2021 and volunteer around 20-25 hours per week on average.
I own my business and have a full-time role managing a specialised manufacturing site within the defence sector. I predominantly work from an office; however, my roles see me travel globally each year visiting the USA and Europe regularly.
I will be on call 2-4 evenings a week in the City Centre attending a variety of different calls, and working alongside other responders, CEMS, EMAS resources and the Lincs Notts Air Ambulance.
I am returning to education and just about to start a management qualification which hopefully lead to achieving an MBA in future years!
Through the training I have received, and the equipment provided to me by the charity I can honestly say that I have been able to make a difference on a number of occasions to patient outcomes. Responding within our community, meaning sometimes there is very close proximity to emergencies whilst being able to provide lifesaving interventions has more than once meant that a loved one was able to see their family again.
If you’d like to volunteer your time for LIVES we are now recruiting for a number of voluntary roles including Community First Responders. Get in touch!
