This Christmas, LIVES is sharing the story of Will and his family.
Will was just 22 when he was involved in a serious road traffic collision. As his family waited for news, they faced an uncertain and frightening night.
In The Greatest Gift, Will, his parents Sue and Gavin, and his sister Lorna share what happened and reflect on the care and support they received. Their story is a powerful reminder of how much it can mean to have help there when a family needs it most.
As Will says: “Without the professionals that were there that night, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today.”
For Sue, the greatest gift was having Will home with his family.
There for people over Christmas
Emergencies don’t stop for the festive season. Between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day during the 2025 festive period, LIVES volunteers were dispatched 88 times. This included 15 cardiac arrests and six road traffic collisions.
LIVES volunteers give their time to help people in communities across Lincolnshire. Donations help support their work as they continue responding to emergencies and caring for people when they need it most.
