Forever In Bloom
For our daughter, Christine.

“From an early age, Christine had a passion for animals of all kinds, and as a child had several rabbits that she loved to keep.
Christine was educated at schools in Boston and, in due course, decided to work in children’s homes in areas of Lincolnshire, after studying and qualifying at a high level in Counselling Skills at Lindum College, Lincoln. This work gave her a deep interest in children’s problems and young adults. She was very well liked and was popular with staff members. This led her to decide to work with young people permanently, and she became a counsellor.
Moving further on in time, Christine decided to leave living in Boston and move to Lincoln permanently. She sold her house in Boston and we sold ours. We bought a house first, and Christine moved in with us.
At last, we’d made it to Lincoln.
We moved into our house in December 2020, during COVID, and sadly during this time Christine started to get very ill – not related to COVID.
Christine was unable to work and became a patient at Lincoln County Hospital, needing to attend several times a week.
On New Year’s Eve 2023 Christine fell, and we couldn’t get her off the floor – we didn’t want to hurt her. We had great difficulty getting an ambulance; in fact, we couldn’t get one at all. We ended up calling the Police, and it was at this time that they were able to connect with LIVES.
At last, we had help.
LIVES arrived at our door in a very short time, as the Community First Responder who came to help Christine was based in Lincoln. What LIVES did for Christine that New Year’s Eve we will always remember. LIVES helped Christine up off the floor, treated her with dignity and respect, and were able to make her comfortable again.
We are so grateful for the existence of LIVES. We can never really express in words how relieved and thankful we all were. Christine’s last days were made a little more comfortable for her.
Sadly, peacefully, on 13th January 2024 Christine passed away at Lincoln County Hospital. She will be a great loss to Lincoln, for the many young people she would have helped.

Once your loved one features in the display, you’ll be able to collect your flower and bring it home as a lasting reminder of your dedication (collection from The Petwood Hotel, Stixwould Road, Woodhall Spa LN10 6QG – 6th – 7th of June). Each dahlia stands 50cm tall and 12cm wide, with a striking yellow bloom that glows beautifully in any garden.
Postage options are also available if you’re unable to collect your dahlia from the display (or collect from LIVES, Units 5 – 8 Birch Court, Boston Road Industrial Estate, Horncastle, LN9 6SB, Mon-Fri, 10 – 4, following the end of the display.)
