Training
There’s a mind-boggling choice of first aid training available out there. Like us, many first aid providers offer a variety of first aid training solutions. So how do you know who to choose?
At LIVES, we genuinely believe that our experience enables us to offer some of the best first aid training and first aid courses available. We think that if someone’s survival could one day depend on what you’ve been taught, you should learn from the best. It’s that simple.
Life saving training. For life saving teams.
If you operate in a high-risk industry or emergency services space, your people may find themselves holding life in their hands. Very few organisations come close to us when it comes to specialist Casualty Care for Fire and Rescue and Police services training. Find out why here…
Act in the event of an accident at work.
Learn the skills.
LIVES’ workplace training courses are designed to empower your workforce with the first aid skills and personal confidence to provide care in the event of a medical emergency. Our Educators save lives for a living. They can teach your teams to save them too.
Embed mental health training. Care for the mental wellbeing of colleagues.
As with a physical trauma or injury, having the skills to deliver fast and effective mental health first aid is essential to prevent long term harm. And with suicide rates and self-harm statistics also rising sharply, it could even save a life one day.
LIVES’ CPR courses are regulated and give you a nationally recognised qualification.
Sudden cardiac arrest is one the UK’s biggest killers. It can strike at any time. It can happen to anyone. And when it does happen, there isn’t any time to waste. Every minute without CPR being applied reduces the chance of a patient’s survival by 10%2. Think about that for a second.
Q. How do I choose the right first aid training for me?
A. Different roles. Different environments. Different statutory regulations. They all potentially call for different levels of first aid training. At LIVES we offer standardised courses and highly bespoke training too. That means whatever your individual requirement, we can provide training that fits perfectly.
Q. I need to be first aid trained for my job – is this something you can help with?
A. No problem. Our one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course, sometimes known as ‘EFAW’, is suitable for individuals looking to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. This course is also ideal for those who want to learn first aid and CPR skills. We regularly run this course in different locations across Lincolnshire.
Q. I work with children and babies - do I need a different first aid qualification?
A. If you you’re a nursery nurse, childminder, teacher or teaching assistant working with young children or babies, you may need a Paediatric First Aid course. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all early years’ providers in England to have at least one person who has a current and full paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and available at all times, when children are present. We offer a two-day Paediatric First Aid course that can fulfil this requirement and train you in dealing with a range of paediatric first aid situations. We also provide a one-day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course which is suitable for anyone who has a child in their care at any time and to learn key paediatric first aid skills, such as baby CPR and child CPR and what to do if a child is choking.
Q. I’ve had first aid training previously, but my qualification has run out - do I need to retake the course?
A. Yes, if your qualification has expired, you are no longer eligible to act as a first aider and your qualification is out of date. We offer a specific First Aid at Work Requalifying course just for this. Most first aid qualifications last three years, but it is recommended that you undertake annual refresher courses to keep your knowledge and skills up-to-date and ensure you are still competent to perform the role. Refresher courses usually only last half a day, we offer these for First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid.
Q. I work in a high-risk environment and want more than just first-aid training. Is this something LIVES can provide?
A. Absolutely. We can support you and key members of your team to achieve a nationally recognised qualification, provided in partnership with the ATAC Group. This will equip your teams with clinical level skills far beyond those covered with first-aid training. To discuss your specific requirements, Get in touch today.
