If you’re responsible for a workforce who are involved in heavy lifting of any sort, you’ll know how important it is for you and them to understand the proper procedures for safe moving and handling.

Ensuring your teams avoid personal harm in the workplace isn’t just essential to safeguard their health and wellbeing, it’s a professional and legal responsibility. It protects everyone’s health and safety. It helps mitigate liability relating to suffering a workplace injury as a result of inadequate training. In short, it’s business critical.

Moving and Handling training delivered by LIVES, is extremely comprehensive and is conducted on site at your premises, allowing us to identify actual challenges in your environment and provide highly relevant, bespoke training on the day. All current legislative responsibilities are encompassed across the trainings two key facets:

Moving: Essential training for individuals undertaking manual moving tasks as part of their daily role, including warehouse operatives, delivery personnel and logistics teams. However, with virtually all roles, this may at some time involve lifting it’s also recommended for any organisation that’s keen to promote safe lifting and moving practices as part of their overall health & safety strategy.

Handling: Training in the safe handling of individuals is a must for care and support workers who are providing individual personal assistance, either in a regulated social care setting or within the community. Keeping you, your teams, and the service users you support as safe as possible is essential. This training sets out to provide all the training required, to ensure learners are equipped to move, position, and manually handle people in their care correctly – both in everyday scenarios and in an emergency situation, safe evacuation is absolutely vital.

WHAT WILL WE COVER IN THIS COURSE?

  • Understanding the importance of safe manual handling
  • Know how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety
  • Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety
  • Understand the anatomy of the spine and how to protect your back from injury when carrying out manual handling manoeuvres.

After completing this course, you will receive:

  • QA Level 2 award in Principles of Manual Handling certified for 3 years
