Partners

LIVES works in partnership with the Trent Strategic Health Authority, East Midlands Ambulance Service, Lincolnshire Police and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service. We also have a service level agreement with Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust to provide a First Responder service in Lincolnshire.

East Midlands Ambulance Service
East Midlands Ambulance Service is responsible for calling and mobilising LIVES Volunteers. When a 999 call is made, an ambulance is mobilised and, if the call fits the criteria for a LIVES response, a member in that area will be mobilised. Ambulance Control monitor our response times and provide monthly callout figures, which allows LIVES to monitor the service it provides.
Police and Fire Services
LIVES works with the Police and Fire and Rescue at the scene of vehicle collisions or other accidents. The Police need to have regular assessment of the severity of injuries in order to gauge the degree of accident investigation required. They also provide rapid escort to hospital for critically injured patients.
LIVES has been actively involved with the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership in an effort to reduce Road Traffic deaths and serious injuries.
LIVES Doctors and Paramedics work closely with the Fire Service in accidents involving entrapment, where speed of release has to be balanced against risk of further injury to the casualty. Some of the retained Fire Stations around Lincolnshire have become involved in the First Responder groups, with the firemen becoming trained and equipped to provide basic life support and defibrillation in the same way as the Community First Responders.
Lincolnshire Ambucopter
Very often at the scenes of bad road accidents, patients have to be taken to hospital very quickly. Our Medics often request use of the Ambucopter via Ambulance Control.
Cardiac Science
Cardiac Science is a leading provider of Defibrillators in the United Kingdom. The LIVES Clinical Governance Committee works very closely with Cardiac Science in order to make sure that we continue providing an effective treatment for patients in Cardiac Arrest.
